Peter Hosking has worked in the Province leadership team since 2004. As Province Socius, he supports Jesuits and companions, and assists ministry planning and development. He is also the Provincial Delegate for Social Ministries.

Educated at Saint Ignatius' College, Adelaide, he entered the Jesuits in 1975, and was ordained in 1987. Peter is a clinical psychologist with long experience with refugees in counselling, advocacy, and policy roles. He was Country Director of Jesuit Refugee Service in Australia (1988-93) and in East Timor (1999-2000). In recent years, he has assisted psychosocial projects in East Timor, Aceh, and Solomon Islands.

Since 1996 Peter has worked part-time as a clinician and providing clinical supervision at ConneXions, a program of Jesuit Social Services. He served in the Saint Ignatius' and Saint James' Parishes in Richmond from 1996-2004. He worked at Uniya, the Jesuit Social Justice Centre at Kings Cross from 1989-95. Peter also assists in the ministry of the Spiritual Exercises and with the formation of Jesuits.
