New Dalton McCaughey Library Opens [Updated 19 Mar 2007]

The Joint Theological Library re-opened on 01 February in its new incarnation as the Dalton McCaughey Library (DML). It is now situated on Morrison Close, the right-of-way off College Crescent, Parkville, between Ormond and St Hilda's Colleges. The Library forms the southern half of the new building: the northern part of the building is the Uniting Church's Centre for Theology and Ministry, which also houses the offices of the United Faculty of Theology.

The new Library building was officially opened at a ceremony on Wednesday 14 March and still requires a variety of finishing touches, but is fully available for reading and borrowing.

DML's opening was held in conjunction with the 2007 United Faculty of Theology Commencement Lecture by The Very Rev Francis J Moloney SDB.

The Very Reverend Francis J Moloney, SDB, DPhil (Oxon), AM, taught New Testament at Catholic Theological College within the MCD before becoming foundation Professor of Theology at the Australian Catholic University and later Professor of New Testament at Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.
