Nunzio Di Benedetto was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1979.

He grew up in Brunswick and completed his VCE studies at St Joseph's Christian Brothers' College in North Melbourne, before studying his Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University.

He worked various jobs during and after his studies, before taking up employment with the Department of Human Services as a Carer for the disabled.

Work as a Carer and various voluntary ventures coincided with a deepening of faith and awareness of the spiritual life. At this time of discernment as to the meaning and direction of his life, he came into contact with the Jesuits.

Travels in both Nepal and India in the years prior to joining both inspired and confirmed his desire to enter religious life in the Society of Jesus.

On 02 February 2006, Nunzio took his vows as a Jesuit Brother at Canisius College in Pymble, NSW.

Nunzio was awarded his Bachelor of Theology and Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction on 08 May 2009.
