Steve grew up in Canberra and was educated by the Marist Brothers. He did a Social Science degree and moved to Sydney.

In Sydney, Steve worked in a variety of call centres, mainly in telecommunications customer service.

In 2004 he started looking at the Jesuits and went through the application process. He entered the novitiate in 2005 and took vows in 2007.

He is studying for his Bachelor of Theology at the United Faculty of Theology.
