Deacon AM Ardi Handojoseno was born in Tegal, Central Java, Indonesia in 1969.

He entered the Society of Jesus in 1998 after studying at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS Surabaya) and worked for Widya Mandala Catholic University for a number of years. He studied philosophy and theology at Driyarkara School of Philosophy, Jakarta.

For regency, Ardi worked as a Campus Minister in Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta and also lectured in the same university.

Ardi came to Australia in February 2005 to study theology at the Jesuit Theological College. In March 2007 he was admitted to the Degree of Bachelor of Theology and on 01 December 2007 he was ordained deacon at St Ignatius' Church, Richmond.
