Deacon Youn-Su Kim was born in Kwangju, South Korea in 1969.

Before joining the Society of Jesus in 1998, Youn-Su studied French Literature at university.

After taking vows, he studied philosophy for three years and worked for Child Guidance centre for two years during his regency.

Youn-Su came to Australia in March 2005 and is studying theology at the Jesuit Theological College. On 01 December 2007 he was ordained deacon at St Ignatius' Church, Richmond and in April 2008 he graduated with a Master of Theological Studies and Graduate Diploma in Spirituality.
