	Plínio Gusmão Martins was born in Dili, East Timor in 1976. He entered the Society of Jesus on 01 July 1996 in the St Stanislaus Kostka Novitiate, Indonesia. Before he moved to finish a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy in Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, he had one year of Philosophy study in Jakarta, Indonesia. After his Philosophy study, he did his two-year regency at Xavier High School, Micronesia as a Teacher and Campus Minister. He spent another year of regency in East Timor before he came to Manila for his Theology study at the Loyola School of Theology in 2006. Plínio was transferred from the Jesuit theologate in Manila to Jesuit Theological College after completing one semester. He came to Australia in February 2007 and is studying Theology at Jesuit Theological College.
